Dine in air-conditioned comfort next time you visit the Amrit Yoga Institute. The dining area is being enclosed to create a tidy and safe-from-bugs environment for eating as well as meeting and greeting in the lounge. Here Jagdish shows off his handy-work. A new entrance to the meditation hall will complete the scene. |

On the Road with Kamini
Kamini began her winter tour in Seattle, where she partnered with Kalidas (pictured left) and Brandy to create a one-day workshop at the Unity Church for 37 participants – most of whom had never experienced Amrit Yoga. Some were looking for Christian Yoga and found the non-secular approach both practical and usable within their own faith and personal practice. Kalidas will be giving a free workshop in Seattle on March 30. Check out www.freeyogaday.org for details. |
Her next stop was Providence, where she was lovingly cared for by Heather and Nitya of Santosha Yoga Studio. Recently Santosha began a series called Amrit Yoga Elements, introducing the transformational tools of Amrit Yoga with great success.
Members of both Santosha and Sun Salutations have been steadfast in their commitment to the teachings and finding creative ways to share them with varying segments of the population. Many teach in hospitals, psychotherapeutic settings and to children.
Santosha will be hosting Gurudev - October 17-19 The weekend will center around the practice and technique of the Posture of Consciousness and its unique contribution to the way yoga and yoga nidra are commonly practiced. Contact Heather or Melissa at contact@YogaAtSantosha.com or call 401-780-9809.
On to Long Island where Kamini was greeted by friends new and old. Hosted by Jackie and Coleen (www.longislandyoga.com), she led an evening for yoga teachers and yoga practitioners on integrating the Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra into yoga classes. Jackie, Radhika and the rest of the NYC team are looking forward to Gurudev’s annual visit to NYC March 7-8. |

Many of you have commented on the beauty of the catalog you received from us this year. Gurudev has been wanting such a catalog for years, and this year Malay, Priti, and Modini teamed up with Deb Defranco to make it happen. Deb also designs materials for the NYC workshop. Though there were many late nights and opportunities to "breathe, relax and let go" along the way, everyone came away feeling excited about the new look and feel of the logo and design elements.
