Life is a continual flow of events and situations through which we are empowered to learn and grow. In December 2010, a fire at the Amrit Yoga Institute destroyed Cabin 3, our Ayurveda and Healing Arts Center. As you can imagine, we were very concerned about continuing to provide the Ayurvedic Detoxification (Panchakarma) programs which have truly transformed the lives of the participants and are creating a powerful synergy between Yoga and Ayurveda at Amrit Yoga Institute that accelerates healing and spiritual growth in every aspect of life.

Ayurveda and Healing Arts are a central part of our mission. We want, and need, to rebuild the facility to provide an enhanced series of trainings and services. We have committed to designing and building a world-class Healing Arts Center that will provide an adequate and appropriate Panchakarma facility. Detoxification of body, mind, and emotions is fundamental to releasing stress and inflexibility. The ancient sages who discovered Ayurveda and Yoga knew this and developed a powerful, effective, yet gentle and nourishing detoxification process called Panchakarma. This process is based on thousands of years of practice and knowledge that originates from direct experience.

Amrit Ayurveda programs are led by Dr. Vijay Jain, MD, who brings more than 35 years of experience in General Surgery and 15 years of focused study of integrative medicine and Ayurveda to his work. We are so fortunate that Dr. Jain has brought his knowledge, experience, and love for sharing the healing wisdom of Ayurveda to our community. His generosity and volunteer service are unique and rare.

The Amrit Ayurveda and Healing Arts Center is built on the same location as the former Cabin 3. The new building will be 1,200 square feet. We have already consulted a designer and a contractor about this exciting project and have completed demolition of the old building. New construction is happening fast.

We have some funds available, but not enough for completion. In order to meet our timeframe, we need your help. We are very excited about this new center. This is our first expansion project, which is part of a much larger effort to expand the capacity of our Salt Springs campus to include private accommodations that are so badly needed for panchakarma, a yoga and meditation hall, and Dadaji’s temple.

More About Dr. Vijay Jain and Amrit Ayurveda

Dr. Vijay JainDr. Vijay Jain's selfless service and commitment has given us a whole new way to provide healing services and education that are highly complementary to the practice of Yoga. He and his wife, Michele, have donated their entire service and have personally provided for the expense of equipment and start-up costs, initially and again following the fire. The Jains travel at their own expense every time. Dr. Jain offers Ayurvedic Detoxification (Panchakarma) as well as weekend educational sessions like Practical Ayurveda. The Amrit Yoga Institute is developing a certification track in Ayurveda. We recommend Ayurvedic education as well as detoxification for all Certified Amrit Method Practitioners and dedicated seekers.

As a result of his dedication, we are able to provide our 8-day detoxification programs for an extremely low cost. Many other similar programs charge as much for preliminary Panchakarma therapies as we charge for full Panchakarma, lodging, meals and daily consults with Dr. Jain, plus lectures, darshans with Gurudev, and Amrit Yoga and Yoga Nidra, which is a unique and highly synergistic combination that is currently not available anywhere else in the world.

To provide the highest quality of individual attention and support, we take only 8 people per Panchakarma session. Our programs typically fill up months in advance and we have already seen a high number of returning participants, since people experience such a deep and lasting benefit that they choose to incorporate Panchakarma as an annual practice for building health and accelerating spiritual growth.
