Join the Amrit Yoga Institute in marking the birthday of our beloved Gurudev, Yogi Amrit Desai, and the 50th year of his teaching and service to the world.
The celebration begins Friday evening and extends through brunch on Sunday. Special guest appearances by Bikram Choudhury, Panache Desai, Mickey Singer and ecstatic chanting with members of Mayapuri Kirtan.

We know you want to join in the celebration of Gurudev’s 80th Birthday and honor his 50 years of teaching. And we know you may not be able to make it for the enitre weekend of special guest appearances and festivities. So, for you, we’ve opened up Saturday Evening.
The evening begins at 6:30 PM with a cocktail reception, followed by the delicious gala dinner; culminating in the high energy and fun of the Mayapuri Kirtan.

Noted Birthday Celebration Participants
Born and raised in London, England, Panache Desai spent a childhood immersed in an atmosphere of prayer and worship surrounded by his deeply spiritual family. His family had close personal contact with Indian saints and spiritual masters for generations. This cultural lineage laid a foundation for what was to come. Panache has committed his life to traveling the world carrying this divine energy to people of all nationalities, all religious beliefs and ideologies. He has activated thousands of people through his divine presence. He is a vehicle of profound peace, love and light.
Michael (Mickey) Singer is the author of the bestselling book The Untethered Soul. He received a master's degree in economics from the University of Florida in 1971. During his doctoral work, he had a deep inner awakening and went into seclusion to focus on yoga and meditation. In 1975, he founded Temple of the Universe, a now long-established yoga and meditation center where people of any religion or set of beliefs can come together to experience inner peace. Through the years, Singer has made major contributions in the areas of business, the arts, education, healthcare, and environmental protection. He previously authored two books on the integration of Eastern and Western philosophy: The Search for Truth and Three Essays on Universal Law: Karma, Will and Love.

Bikram Choudhury is the founder of the worldwide Yoga College of India™. Born in Calcutta in 1946, Bikram began yoga at the age of four with India's most-renowned physical culturist at that time, Bishnu Ghosh, the younger brother of Paramahansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi and founder of the Self-Realization Fellowship in Los Angeles. Today Bikram Yoga is practiced by millions around the world. It produces profound healing power for the body and the mind.
