A mala is a tool to facilitate concentration during mantra meditation. The mala is sometimes used to illustrate reincarnation. Each bead represents a life beginning in birth and ending in death, while the thread of the mala represents the eternal presence of the soul. In the same way, the mala represents our lineage. Each bead represents each one of us, seekers on the path, while the cord represents the eternal flow of love and light connecting all of us to each other and to the source.
What is the Amrit Mala program?
Amrit Mala is a vehicle to enhance our connection to each other and to the Lineage. In Amrit Mala, we use the deliberate act of giving as a channel for our integrative intention. At the same time, the fruit of our intention moves the mission of the Amrit Yoga Institute forward.
How does Amrit Mala work?
- You commit to allocate $1 a day for three years in support of the Amrit Yoga Institute mission. This commitment is in honor of your own intention to deepen your practice and your connection to the timeless teachings of our lineage.
- When 108 people join together in this commitment, an Amrit Mala is formed. One mala generates $39,420 per year in support of the Amrit Yoga Institute! In celebration of this shared intention, a ceremony will be performed offering a mala to the masters of our lineage.
- With your love and dedication, Amrit Mala will grow and will provide a steady flow of financial momentum to help our center develop and grow.

“Sharing from the heart creates an opening for us to become the recipient of that which we provide.” Gurudev
How does Amrit Mala help the Amrit Yoga Institute?
The Amrit Yoga Institute has been growing steadily over the last few years. Now we have an opportunity to co-create a center that will support all of us in sharing Amrit Yoga with the world. In order to provide for this vision, we need to develop and expand our center in Salt Springs. The Amrit Mala program evolved out of our desire to create a vehicle for everyone to connect to the Amrit Yoga Institute through giving.
“Now we have come to a stage where it is crucial for all of us to share in the continuation of the authentic values and timeless teachings of our lineage. With your help we can continue to expand our programs to all those that want to deepen their practice and become part of our lineage of light and love.” - Gurudev
How does Amrit Mala help you?
You will be surprised at the power of this simple commitment. Gurudev has said that the most effective meditation technique is the one we practice regularly. A daily commitment to your intention, symbolized by your allocation of $1 a day, brings new strength and resolve to your yoga practice, on and off the mat. In addition, each dollar coming to the Amrit Yoga Institute is infused with the power of your intention, creating a self-enhancing cycle of integration.
